Finally central home P. Chidambaram announced that election in West Bengal will be held in May 2011. In a press conference Chidambaram says “The gift for West Bengal in this year is Election in May”.

As there are several board exams during end of February to April, it is not possible for election to be held during this period, and more that no party is allowed to use loudspeakers for promotion during exam times. So it is better for everybody that election held in May.

Chief Election Commissioner S.Y.Qureshi is expected to come to West Bengal this week to review present condition and arrangements for election. He will meet all the district magistrates and police supers.

Election commission may declare final election date in mid January. Election in West Bengal an Tamilnadu will held at the same time otherwise the result from one state will effect the result of other, as both states are ruled by CPIM and there may be a huge change in West Bengal.
