Can party issue einvoce in case of purchase return as debit note

For purchase return party is not required to issue any document. Along with Delivery Challan and waybill material has to be returned. The person who has been sold and receiving the return material has to issue Credit Note / e-Credit Note and also has to report the same in his GSTR 1.
