from assessment yr. 2010-11, while deducting tds u need not charge surcharge and education cess on respective rates of tds.

Hi Darshak,
From October 1, 2009, the SC and EC is not required to added in TDS rates. However, in case of only Salary, you will have to add EC in TDS rate.

Hi,
The amendments had come in October 2009. But, education cess need not be calculated for purposes of TDS with retrospective effect from 1st April 2009. So, education cess need not be calculated from 1st April 2009 onwards..

These amendement are only for TDS purpose and not for at time of making of return of income.
