and to mr tejas..yess every body is entitiled for their opinion but wth a lityle restraint. The way u r expressing it seems one should  repeal d icwai act, and merged its content 2 icai...    once its recruitment gets better thn people will flock in 2 icwai till then guyzz like yourself will really find it a complete waste of tym...

Since I've done  my articleship partly from Ey, i.e. Internal audit and had a number of friends in Stat audit, I'd say go for Ernst & Young.
EY has a larger presence, better clientele, processes and administration is at par with any MNC.
Deloitte and Grant Thornton are small in size compared to EY.
You cant trick the interviewers after passing, into thinking Ey is equal to Deloitte, because they're both Big4, cause everybody knows whose who in this line.

The cons of working for EY is the long hours and the feeling they often give you that if you need a holiday you're kinda 'unprofessional'. But am sure others will do that too.

Anyway, just my tuppence, and a word of advice, dont let the stipend dictate your choice.

Globally, Deloitte is Number 1 in the world. It overtook PwC last year and this year too its leading.

In India, the global effect is showing as they are growing at a faster rate than the other big4s.

I would suggest u dnt go in either coz there they go for specialisation that too of pathetic sorts lyk they offer u stat audit and then dont give the entire audit also in ur teams hand....thats just pure nonsense ..go in a firm where u wil be able to do eveythng u want and then after ur ca join the big 4ss...coz in indian firms u get to knw all aspects of a CA's work n then u cn decide in fututre wat u have to do... ppl go to big 4 bcoz of their reputataion, stipend and status u get after joining them...my own firm has rejected ppl frm big 4 who came to join it after their CA.the decision is yours...!!!!!

Hi,

I am working with EY.  From my viewpoint, EY  is the best in its tax practice in India.  Decide based on your specialisation.

Audit - Deloitte

Taxation - EY

my dear mohit i think a bit of thought process will help you a lot in this you must decide whether you want to be a specialised person in a particular field or want to learn a bit of every field within your scope and then choose which comp to join as all are offering different posts to freshers i suppose so give it a good thought process and with relax mind just finalise the choice

Tejas and my cma friend both courses are of equal importance in todays world as both can be a subsitute of each other when required but still they have distinct personality in several tasks they perform and also in eyes of indian goverment both have equal importance because whenever a recruitment notice comes from any goverment department or corporation or company comes into the newspaper and if it is related to post of finance then qualification is always stated as CA/ICWAI so if goverment does think this way how can all of us think in that way. so you are both heroes of your own field and be proud of each other because you both have achieved in life what you want to achieve and now help each other to increase knowledge level mutually . I know competition is there but to survive you take competition in healthy way and fight with all the knowledge power you have who knows who gets the cream in the last so be prepared and dont curse each other but be prepared for healthy competition and this not a lecture this is a just a friendly suggestion to both of my professional buddies
