Hello Friends

I have filled original return manually before due date on 29.07.2011. Due to some errors i want to file revised return. Can I file this revised return electronically (E-Return). Kindly help me on this topic.

No Ajay u can't file electroncally because u have filled original return manually.

Hello Ajay

Sorry but you cannot file a revise return electronically as for doing that your original return also has to be filed electronically. You will have to file a physical return only.

Accordingly, the assessee can file revised return online only if he had filed the original return online otherwise revise return is to be filed in hard copy.

Income Tax Act does not prohibit filing online revised return against original physical return filed earlier. But when one try to file revised online return income tax department searches detail of original return filed which is not find and error is communicated as details of original return filed in hard copy yet to punch in department net work data.
