Due date for revised TDS return

Tell me the last date till that we can revise our tds return.

Revised return means that you can re-file your IT return with some modification. If you have already filed your return for FY 2007-08 but want to make modifications and file a new return, then the new return will be called the revised return.
o For this financial year (Mar 2007 - Apr 2008), you can file a revised return till 31st March 2010.
o However, if the income tax department completes the assessment of your return earlier, then you can not file a revised return.

ROI can be revised

i)Before the end of one year from the end of the relevant assessment year OR

ii) Before the completion of assessment whichever is earlier.

Dear Mr.Amit Agarwal, the quarterly statement we file furnishing the details of the TDS is not called a RETURN. It is simply called a STATEMENT. You can cross check this from tin website (www.tin-nsdl.com) As such, there is no last date to revise such STATEMENT. We are now filing a revised statement for FY.2007-08.

RETURN FILE U/S 139(1) CAN BE REVISED U\S 139(5),WITH IN ONE YEAR FROM THE END OF RELEVANT ASSESSMENT YEAR...OR BEFORE COMPLETION OF ASSESSMENT MADE (which is the earlier)

THERE IS NO TIME LIMIT OF REVISION OF TDS RETURN.....

You can revise the return even if the time period has expired, provided it is submitted physically at I.T office and have a word with the concerned A.O.

I got it done recently.
