Doubt on CA Firm/Proprietorship registration number

2524 views 5 replies

Friends,

I have recently started CA practice in my individual name after a couple of years in the industry. While applying for CAG empanelment, I noticed that they require a seven digit Firm Registration Number. I got full time COP letter from our Institute, but there is no mention of any Registration number. Instead , can we give the Membership no in place of the Registration number. Can any of the professional friends throw more light on this please!!

Hi,
I think your solution is firm registration number which is 7 alphanumeric thing

u can ask it to learned members................

Have you not applied for registration of your firm name to the institute. Your membership number & firm registration  no are two different things. firm reg no is 7 digits.

You should apply to the Institue (regional offices) and get registration number. This is necessarlity required becuase with this registration number only you (your firm) willl be able to register with empanelment of auditors of CAG, Bnak audits, Railway boards...
