02 January 2010In case of Purchase of Software Licence, the seller is charging to the buyer in their invoices Service Tax as well as VAT also. In view of this customer is paying double taxation to the Vendor who has supplied the license on right to use basis to the customer.
Can any one clarify the grounds for charging double taxes by the vendor to its customer with specific notification or circular..!?
It is a conflicting issue between central authorities and state authorities. There is not much clarity on it, tats y this double taxation is going on... Anyway read this :
