Today when I proceed to file my itr and i download the AIS it's shown double entry of MF/shares consideration I have sell Rs. 70 lakhs shares/MF but in ais it shows Rs. 1 crore worth share/mf sell when I check deeply than it appears that in SFT17 and SFT18 sell from depository and sell from RTA both were counted means I sell shares from kotak securities it count one sell and sell from CDSL it count it another share. Now kindly help how to treat it in ITR
you don't need to report the duplicate amount in your ITR. Simply report the actual sale value of Rs. 70 lakhs. You can attach a clarification mentioning the duplicate entry and the corrected value for reference during tax filing.
