hey bro,
if you want to stay connected or want a 24 hours connection I will suggest you to opt for Broad Band.
But if you require internet connectivity for surfing & downloads whenever you wish then go for Dongle.
you can choose from verious available models from Lava, I-ball, Index, Micromax, huawei (recommended) in GSM category

Hello Friends,
A dongle is a small USB device that allows you to access the internet with a 3G mobile broadband connection. It can be referred to as a dongle, USB modem, internet stick, USB network adapter or USB mobile broadband stick. Dongles are popular because they offer greater flexibility than fixed line connections and can be used on the go.
The term broadband refers to the wide bandwidtth characteristics of a transmission medium and its ability to transport multiple signals and traffic types simultaneously. The medium can be coax, optical fiber, twisted pair or wireless. In contrast, baseband, describes a communication system in which information is transported across a single channel. Prior to the invention of home broadband, dial-up Internet access was the only means by which one could access the Internet and download files such as songs, movies, e-mails, etc. It would take anywhere from 10–30 minutes to download one song (3.5 MB) and over 28 hours to download a movie (700 MB). Dial-up Internet was also considered very inconvenient as it would impair the use of the home telephone line, and users would contemplate whether or not to get a second line, and if doing so was worth the cost.

Hi Dear,
Both have thir pros & cons I listed some of them here...
A)DONGLE
1) If you need mobility (with laptop anywhere use).
2) Easy to carry
3) Not Costly for 2G, 3G - coslty plan if you want 3G then suggest you buy new sim all time, dont recharge it, because new sim have some offers.
4) limitation for speed in 2G Sim, But with 3G it have great speed.
5) Idea 3G unlock dongle is best for now days, because you can use any sim 2g/3g, it is cheaper as another.
B)BROADBAND
1) Cheaper Plans.
2) Good Speed- BSNL have vary good(cheaper) plan for broadband with good speed.
3) You can run internet in multiple system(computer).
Conculsion : If you want to home use (at one place) then BSNL Broadband is a good option & If you want mobility (anywhere use) Then Idea-3G or DOCOMO-2G is a good option.
Thanks
