Donations in Form 16

1019 views 4 replies

Hi

I am Salaried employee.

I have made a few donations to a few Institutions which are exempt from Income Tax.

Should I submit copies of my donation receipts to my employer to have these included in my Form-16 as part of my Chapter VI A deductions?

Or should I get a Form16 from my employer without these and then include them in my returns?

Appreciate your clarification.

Thanks

HELLO

ITS BETTER TO SUBMIT TO EMPLOYER SO THAT IT CAN REDUCE YOUR TAX DEDUCT IF YOU SUBMIT LATER THEN GETTING REFUND FROM INCOME TAX DEPT WILL BE LATE..SO SUBMIT THE COPIES TO EMPLOYER SO THAT YOU CAN GET EXEMPTION AND GET REDUCE TAX......

hi,

as per my knowledge we should not take donation part in salary as per corporate laws

As per act, Employer can not show donation in form 16 & Deduct tax accordingly. however employee can show it separately at the time of filing the return & claim refund of excess deduction, if any.

agree with Mr. Samir and Hari, let see other view!
