IGNOU has shown unjustifiable Discrimination in Registration Eligibility and Minimum Duration of various special Bcoms. This has resulted in loss of so much time to CA students. Pl. see below for Registration Eligibility and Minimum Duration of BComs of CWAs, CSes and CAs.
A) For IGNOU BCom(F&CA) for ICWAI students.
2.2 Eligibility for Admission
Candidates with following qualifications are eligible for admission.
a) 10 + 2 or its equivalence; and
b) Registration in ICWAI Foundation Course.
Students who have passed ICWAI Intermediate Course shall also be eligible for admission.
2.5 Duration of the Programme
The duration of the programme shall be minimum 3 years and maximum 6 years with a provision for readmission after the completion of maximum duration. The students who have already passed ICWAI Intermediate Course before joining the IGNOU course may complete the programme in a minimum period of one year. Students who have passed Foundation Course of ICWAI can complete this programme within a minimum period of 2 years.

B) For IGNOU BCom (CA&A) for CS students.
2.2 Eligibility for Admission
Candidates with following qualifications are eligible for admission.
a) 10 +2 or its equivalence; and
b) Registration in Company Secretaryship Foundation Programme.
Students who have passed Company Secretaryship Intermediate/Executive Programme shall also be eligible for
admission.
2.5 Duration of the Programme
The duration of the programme shall be minimum 3 years and maximum 6 years with a provision for readmission. on the completion of maximum duration. The students who have already passed the ICSI Intermediate/Executive programme before joining the IGNOU course may complete the programme in a minimum period of one year. Students who have passed Foundation programme of ICSI can complete this programme within a minimum period of 2 years.

C) For IGNOU BCom (A&F) for CA students.
2.2 Eligibility for Admission
Candidates who fulfill the following conditions are eligible for admission to this programme:
i) 10+2 or its Equivalance
ii) Passed Common Proficiency Test/PE-I/Foundation from ICAI.
iii) Registration in Professional Competence Course/PE-II/lntermediate (Chartered Accountancy First Stage)
of ICAI.
OR
Already passed Professional Competence Course/PE-II/intermediate
Discrepancy in Registration to CA students: Students of ICWAI & CS can register for their respective BCom courses after registration in their foundation course only, but CA students has to register for IGNOU BCom only after passing their foundation course (CPT) and also after registration to their intermediate course (IPCC). This resulting in loss of at least one year.
2.5 Duration of the Programme
The University offers lot of flexibility and openness in the duration for the completion of this programme. You can complete this programme within a minimum period of 3 years and a maximum period of 6 years. A student once admitted to this programme, his/her registration is valid for 6 years. In case a student fails to complete within 6 years, he/she shall be required to seek re-admission by paying the prescribed fee.
Discrepancy in Duration to CA students: Students of ICWAI & CS can complete their respective BCom courses after one year of passing their respective Inters or after two years of passing their respective foundation courses. But a CA student has to wait for three years for his certificate after passing inter whereas CS and ICWAI students can get it after one year of their Inters.
