Dear Priti,
Directors can be appointed in two categories -
1) As an employee or whole time Directors or Functional Directors - they are generally on rolls of the company like anyother employee & their remuneration will suffer "deduction of professional tax"
2) As a consultant or independent directors - their appointm,ent is not in the capacityof employees & hence their remuneration will not suffer "deduction of professional tax"
