04 March 2011Friends can any one tell me whether additional reading material issued by ICAI for law are are relevant for may 2011 exams.
I also need help as to wheher we should look into complier or previous years question for direct tax as I have heard that only latest case laws and amendments are relevant for the exams.I am studying dt from vinod gupta and I think it is very lengthy so how to prepare it as it would be difficult to revise it during the exams.

For Law: Module is good enough, if u want to read extra , than go for practice manual, even Monish Bhandari is good. Only look at the additional material for ammendments.
For Tax: Vinod Gupta is lengthy, bt is good for understanding. Make a summrized note on the right hand side of page has a short summary, . Further, summary module is there, which can hepl u in reduction of excess reading and last day reading along with your notes. No doubt u can refer for complier, bt make sure that u have proper time management for DT has u r reading Vinod Gupta. If u r refering compiler, than refer immediately after lesson reading has it will save time and build confidence. Concentrate on Business & Profession, Ammendments, Assessment Proceeding and wealth Tax
