My final is due in Nov. 2013. I am confused which book should I follow for direct tax. I am doing self study. Please advice me. Thanks in advance.

I recommend T.N Manoharan. Its better for conceptual understanding and his language is very simple.
TN Manoharan is a precise book not too much in detail. It is ideal for IPCC.
For Final i would suggest u go for Vinod Gupta as u have ample time at ur disposal.
