Dear ARS,

Applicant will get the DIN as soon as he file form DIR 3, it is straight through process.

As per section 152 (2), No person shall be appointed as a director of a company unless he has been allotted the DIN, hence Additional director cannot be appointed without obtaining DIN.

There is no quetion of DIN is in process, since form gets approved as soon as applicant file the form.
