Differences between edp and cis.

Are there any differences between EDP environment and CIS environment? From what I've understood, both involve the use of computers in the processing of accounts. So, are they essentially the same or are there are real differences?

There is no difference both word are interchangbly used.

They are same, actually earlier the term EDP was in use now ppl use the term CIS or just IS
