Tds on salary - Effect of rebate

Can we consider the benefit from rebate while computing income of employees for deducting tds on salary ?

Yes.Rebate should be considered if the annual income is less than 5lacs.Else no rebate

Thanks, but while introducing sec 87A no changes had been made in sec 192, this brings some confusion

Section 192 has to be bound by tax rates & tax liability.
Rebate is form part of calculating tax liability
