Cancellation of pan no
a person died previous year back and his son wants to cancel the pan number of deceased.

He can do by writing letter to Income Tax department attaching death certificate, duplicate card,proof for father- son relation.
Son has to submit a request letter to Assessee's jurisdictional AO alongwith copy of PAN card of the deceased person
The AO will process the request and in end concluding the cancellation (de-activation) of PAN No.
