80d:medical expenditure

hello folks , i have a query...
my uncle is salaried employee and in py 18-19 his father had been paralyzed and all medical expenditure is paid by his friend debit card(mode other than cash) and it was reimbursed by my uncle to him....can he claim this amount deduction u/s 80d??
