One proprietor, two firms.

I am the proprietor of maintenance and repair business working with multiple brands. I have applied for a dealership with a specific brand but they have asked me to form another firm to promote its brand to avoid conflict with other brands. Can I register under for GST for another firm? Or it has to be registered under someone else? The product (commodities) and services remain the same.
