Yes, as in the above case the slab changed from 10% to 20%.........
So, for calculating the tax liability it is just included in income, but tax is paid only on the taxable income.
Benefit to assessee........ the exempted income doesn't get taxed.........
And benefit to Government....... whatever taxable income ....... gets taxed at higher tax slab rate ...
