invalid X M L. please generate using latest utility

error whileuploading itr2. downloaded the latest itr. tried again. butthe same error.

No problem in uploading any of the XML files 2 or 3 encountered till date........... even from google Chrome.......

Clean cookies, update Java utility, then extract newly download ITR utility ........ Validate before saving............ Good luck.....

Dear Sachin,
Invalid XML can be show in the following case:-
1. if you are using correpted XML
2.not extracted file of itr after open
3. not validated and save after fillup all the details

So want to tell you please download fresh itr form and refill that and proper save and validate and then upload it.

Download java utility again and simultaneously updates Java in your system.

if you had done this and still facing the same problem then do one thing use ITR utility for uploading ITR. There is a facility in utility to submit itr instead of generating X M L and uploading it from income tax website.

Hello Am trying to file for AY 2017-18 using excel utility of ITR-2. Am getting this error for more than a week, anyone else facing the same issue. Any help on this would much be appreciated.

Had raised the issue with IT service Help Desk. The reply from them worked. Following is the reply

Dear Taxpayer,

Thank you for contacting e-Filing Helpdesk.

If you are using Windows OS 8/8.1 MS office version 2013 /2010 /2007, then kindly follow the below mentioned procedure
 Install .Net 3.5 Framework (https://www.microsoft.com/en-in/download/details.aspx?id=21)
 Restart the System
 Download fresh Excel Utility and try to generate the XML.

Hello All,

Thanks for helping me out with suggestions. I wrote to efiling web manager and this is what they wrote back to me. Post installing .NET framework , i was able to upload the newly genrated X M L without any issues

Dear Taxpayer,
The XML does not contain the value for the tag <digest>. This may be due to non installing the .Net Framework Version 3.5 or disabled the .Net Framework Version 3.5 .
Please Install the .Net Frame Work Version 3.5 or enable the same in the PC used for generating the XML.
After that open the utility containing the data, generate the XML and upload the same.

Hello,

We are using latest windows operating system with latest MS Excel and .NET Framework. Excel file was extracted to create XML, saved the XML file. Still not able to upload the XML file.

The error message is "Invalid XML. Please generate XML again using latest utility." Please help resolve the issue.

Yeah thats great.. installing .net framewaork worked...run windows feature in start menu..slect 3.5.net framework and apply..it will require update from microsoft website..after updation restart computer..now open internet explorer and upload X M L file on website.......

SIR I am filing the revised return in the response of Intimation by downloading excel utility. The ITR 2 form downloaded by me is correct. But when I m uploading XML it is showing invalid XML.P lease upload again by using latest excel utility. But the utility is the latest only . For AY 17-18, there is a single option only for ITR 2 . Kindly help me on this issue ,and this is the 3-4 th time I am facing this issue
