If the extension is a normal one ( say leaves taken more than 156 days) then still you can safely assume that your articleship will be completed by 6 months from 1st May.(as declaration is as on today and you can always say that extension was sought due to leaves taken post the declaration) Also generally extensions are offpaper. So in the criteria of completed/ will be completing articleship as on 31st Oct 2017 you can be eligible.
However if the extension is due to a gap caused whilst taking transfer then in that case theres no way than to see whether you are actually eligible or not by strict day count.
The above is my opinion/general practice. You may ask a few more guys / call at the institute and ask to confirm the same.
Ultimately your principal will have the final say in this.
