Capitalization of expenses met on operation lease

Hi all, Is expenses met on asset acquired on non-operation lease is capitalized. As per Income tax act the same is capitalize but what about AS?. Case. My client have taken flat on rent @ mall for store purpose.when he acquired the asset it was newly built so he made expenses to make it as per his requirement. Now my query is whether to capitalise the expense amount?
