Think as if you haven't touched Auditing Book ever; only then follow below steps:
1. Take Study Material first. Start reading from it, from the very starting itself. Be slow, very slow, but VERY KEEN. As you read it day-by-day, think you are actually doing it.
a. If you come across any definition, meaning or important terms to remember, Highlight it with a Highlighter and write down these in a Fresh Register, in a neat and tidy way.
b. Mark down the words which can only be used in Auditing Exam, such as Review, Assurance, Standard Auditing Practices, etc. and write them down on a separate fresh sheet of paper. (You have to keep reading these very words DAILY for about 10 min, this will improve your vocabulary in Auditing)
c. Obviously you will come across Hard and Difficult words, search their meaning in dictionery, and write it above that word. (This will let you GRASP AUDITING WHOLLY)
d. Cut off all the useless sentences or words, MAKE YOUR APPROACH VERY SELECTIVE. If you are confused whether a particular sentence is useless or not, ask from your teacher.
e. YES YOU HAVE TO FOLLOW ABOVE STEPS UNTIL YOU HAVE FINISHED READING YOUR BOOK 1st TIME.
f. This step must be completed in 1 month, not more than that. (Give or take days already adjusted)
Note: As you have to do other subjects also, so time alloted to this subject should be 1-1.5 hours only per day.
2. Now you are familiar with Auditing subject and its Terms on a good basis. Now you are aware which topics are more important and which aren't. BUT DON'T EVER THINK OF SKIPPING SOME TOPIC, BECAUSE REMEMBER YOU HAVE TO AIM FOR EXEMPTION HERE. Now your task is to go into depth for important topics. Don't try to memorise, instead if you find an answer difficult to tackle, BREAK IT INTO PARTS, and note EVERYTHING DOWN IN YOUR REGISTER, BECAUSE YOU ARE GONNA SEE THAT ANSWER AGAIN FROM YOUR REGISTER AND NOT FROM STUDY MATERIAL.
a. At this stage, again reading all topics which you have already read might be boring and tiringsome, so THIS TIME YOU HAVE TO THINK THE WHOLE SITUATION AS IF IT IS HAPPENING PRACTICALLY. Suppose you are reading vouching verification, then you have to imagine as if you are really doing it. Then only proper steps for vouching and verification can come to your mind.
b. Obviously you would have left some topics while 1st reading step, its time to cover them now.
c. You can ask queries from your teachers, but do it only when you have a handful of queries, don't just ask them again and again after every 5-10 min, collect your queries and discuss at the end.
d. Try to solve questions from exam papers, one topic at a time.
e. Keep track of time, don't let your time be spent too much on one single topic.
NOTE: REMEMBER, AT THE END OF DAY, YOU HAVE TO REVISE WHAT YOU HAVE DONE THAT DAY. NEXT DAY, YOU HAVE TO REVISE AGAIN PREVIOUS DAY'S ACTIVITY. REVISING SHOULD NOT TAKE MORE THAN 15-20 MINUTES.
COUNT THE TOTAL NUMBER OF PAGES YOU HAVE TO READ. FOR STEP 1, DIVIDE THE TOTAL NUMBER OF PAGES BY 30, YOU'LL GET "PAGES TO BE READ PER DAY". FOR STEP 2, DIVIDE THE TOTAL NUMBER OF PAGES BY 15, YOU'LL GET "PAGES TO BE READ PER DAY".
