Tax free investment

Investments in PPF is eligible for deduction u/s 80C upto Rs. 100,000/- pa. The interest accrued is tax free and so is the maturity amount after 15 years.

I am aware about PF. I would like to know other options from the one which are used to claim deduction under 80C

5-year lock-in Fixed deposit

5-year National saving certificate

Life insurance premium

These all are options for investments to claim deduction u/s 80C.

I am asking for options other than 80C

dear anuj ji, following are few option to claim deductions other than 80C

1. mediclaim policy u/s 80D where u cn get deduction upto 40000/-

2. take responsibility of any disable relative and get dedution upto 75000/- u/s 80DD

3. donation u/s 80G

4. HRA Exemption u/s 80GG

5. Interest on Housing Loan u/s 80EE upto 1.50 Lac
