I cleared my PE 2 IN 2006 AND APPEARED FOR MY CA FINALS IN MAY 2012 WHERE IN I GOT EXEMPTION IN LAW. I WOULD LIKE TO KNOW THAT WHETHER I WILL BE ENTITLED TO EXEMPTION FOR 4 ATTEMPTS INSTEAD OF THE EXISITNG 3 ATTEMPTS BECAUSE OF SOME AMENDMENT FOR THOSE WHO APPEARED IN 2012. PLEASE CLARIFY.

No.........

Exemption can be enjoyed / carry forward only for 3 immediate attempts & it is not-relevant whether u attempted for the exams or not.......

No such amendments is there for 2012 -

I remember there was AMENDMENT by ICAI.

For a particular attempt may be in 2011 Nov or May 2012 they notified that exemptions claimed before such and such date can be carried forward for LIFETIME !! YESS buddies its for lifetime !

You better search in the ICAI website for that notification and also get it confirmed from board of studies.NEW DELHI

Please please do not believe in what people discuss and say ,

exemtion can be enjoyed/awarded just for 3 attempts
