Query regarding shares and do need to show while filling tax

Hi Guys

I have purchased shares on 01/04/2007 and sold them on 01/04/2012 in profit Please advise it is long term gain..? and can I show it during financial year 2012-2013...? Please reply..!!

If it is listed in stock exchange and STT paid...then gain on sale of shares sold after 12 months will be considered as long term capital gain and it will be exepmpt under section 10(38).

Thanks , Yeah STT have been paid already and it is listed in stock exchange...but please advise more in detail about exempt..!! asthe exempt one is still not clear to me , please reply.
