I am having both MP Vijay Kumar and P.C. Tulsian for FR. Questions are same in both the books. But if you are going for self study then you should go for P.C. Tulsian. I did self study for accounts in IPCC from P.C. Tulsian's book and got exemption marks in both Accounts Gr-1 and Accounts Gr-2.

However P.C. Tulsian's book for Financial Reporting for CA-Final has been released recently so there are a few errors but these do not  at all remove the plus points of the book.

For costing also I would suggest P.C. Tulsian. Padhuka's books are not at all suited for self study (atleast for practical subjects) because the intro part of a particular chapter is given at the beginning and questions are given thereafter.

For self studying practical subjects, you need to keep the following things in your mind :-

1. Solving each question by hand.
2. Not to care about the size of the books (a thin book may not neccessarily be helpful for examination purpose).
3. Book should be such that after each and every small topic there should be a question related to it exactly below it. 
4. Write tutorial notes for yourself after each and every question.
5. After completing the chapter, list down your frequent mistakes. Reading your mistakes after 8-10 months of completing the chapter will give you a greater insight about the chapter while practising it for the 2nd or 3rd time.  (Do not miss this point even if all the solved questions are printed on your reference book).

I would suggest you to ist enjoy the life and your internship. Its d time 4 learning not of studying.

And if you want to go for self study in ca final then  nothing can be best than the same. Evn i did the self study except in DT. I would suggest you to go with the class notes of the classses for self study for all the subjects of which available in market.

Nothing can be best than this.
