I am salaried government employee, Service tax on state insurance and group insurance premiums has been deducted from my salary. please tell is this amount of service tax paid from my salary is deductible from gross salary for arriving at taxable income ?????

What about State and group insurance premium. Are these premium amounts are included in your gross salary or not? if these are part of your gross salary than you can deduct service tax also along with these premiums from your salary.
