this much quation only

5   25  61  113   181   265   365

can u explain hemant kumar

ANSWER IS   263 and 361,   I guess.

Odd numbers between  5 and 25 are 9 ,

betwween 25 and 61 are 17 ,

between 61 and 113 are 25

between 113 and 181 are 33

So

the edifference by which Odd numbers are skipped are 9, 17 ,25 and 33

again difference between 9 ,17 ,25 ,33  is the same  that is--- 8.

so the next difference will be   33 +8=  41 and 41+8= 49

therefore

the next 42 th Odd number after 181 comes to 263 and

50 th Odd number after 263 comes to 361.

PLEASE CORRECT ME IF I AM WRONG .

      5 + 20   =   25

    25 + 36*  =   61   *(20+16 =36)

    61 + 52*  = 113   *(36+16= 52)

  113 + 68*  = 181   *(52+16= 68)

  181 + 84*  = 265   *(68+16= 84)

  265 +100* = 365   *(84+16=100)

can u explain hw u got that 20

and if u take 16 than

5+16=21

or

ur explaination starwit 25 wht abut 5

25-5= 20 61-25= 36 113-61= 52 181-113= 68 The gap between d net results of differences is 16 so 68+16=84 Therefore 181+84=265 84+16=100 Therefore 265+100= 365

WHAT ABOUT MY ANSWER  POSTED ABOVE ,PLEASE ANYONE REPLY .

I HAVE JUST NOW MODIFIED IT FOR  A  TYPING MISTAKE .

thanks ca sonia

Pranav ur considering d odd no. Between dem bt nt d nos. As well ciz dey too are odd nos. As in u wrote btw 5 and 25 is 9 and 5 nd 25 is also odd no.
@ pranav ur considering odd nos. In between nd nt d nos. Coz dey r also odd . I mean to say like u said btw 5 nd 25 there are 9 odd nos. Wat abt 5 nd 25 as well

This method is the right one I think because finding the number of odd numbers between two numbers is a tricky thing so addition and difference of two consecutive numbers and applying logic is the more appropriate method to solve it.

iit jee syllabus

@ CA SONIA I agree with you. But let us consider this question from another angle

If  we decided to consider EVEN NUMBER  ALSO ,Then also EVEN Numbers between 5 and 25  are 10,

again EVEN Numbers between 25 and 61 are 18

again EVEN numbers between 61 and 113 are 26 and so on .

VERY IMPORTNAT THING IS THAT you take odd numbers or even numbers the number or volume of odd or even number will  approximately  be the same

.So the result is that the difference between 10 and 18 and 26 will AGAIN come to 8.

So I think that The Answer will be the same even when we take EVEN  numbers as the base .

Well it wud be very tedious to follow such a method... As in the series there is already an easier clue dat d differences need to be increased by 16 ... hemant had posted d correct answer if we folliw d easy route
