Is mcom a must after ca?

I have cleared CA Final in Nov '11 and BCom last year.

Would like to know if its beneficial and of value to do MCom after CA? I have heard certain jobs give more preference for a PG rather than simple graduation...

Please guide

If I am not wrong ca is equivalent to a master's degree as u can pursue phd after doing it. ca is much tougher than mcom and it doesn't make sense doing mcom after ca but ca after mcom makes sense.

CA is considered equivalent to a post graudate degree and I dont think there is any benefit of opting for a M.Com degree ...

Doing MBA from a good college after CA would be a wise choice than doing M.Com.

We can clear CA then why not M.Com And having one more degress is not at all waste. But Mcom i s not a gud choice and as we are market people...Corporate people we shud invest where there is economical benefit. So lots of PG courses are there , pick the demanding knowledge and pursue for a better business acumen. .......... I also agree with all members and theirs views above.

Dear Suhasini,

You can better go for CFA(US)..It is a much accrredited source and will give u ample oppurtunities even in abroad

CA and M Com both degree have different important. M Com is highest education degree and CA is not a degree, it is a certificate.

If you had already cleared CA then no need to apply for M Com. It make no sense.

IT IS NOT A POST GRADUATE DEGREE IN FACT IT IS NOT A DEGREE AT ALL IT IS JUST A CERTIFICATE COURSE WHICH HAS VALUE MORE THAN A PG DEGREE.

no CA is tougher and has more value than mcom in market....... if ur only a bcom person then it is better to have PG........ but as ur CA u neednt to have mcom degree.........
