Team I received an email stating communication on arrear demand for the AY 2005-2006. I had already paid the pending amount that I was suppose to pay to the department. Why am I getting this now... any specific reason for it.. What does 143(1) 154 mean.

AH.....ders lots of communication gap betwn cpc banglore & bkc ppl...........nw probably u need to present ur challan,paid documents etc at bkc and get the order frm dem itself.........
You need to file rectification request to concerned Income Tax Office (ITO) with following documents:-
>> Covering leeter.
>> Photocopy of IT return
>> Photocopy of TDS Certificate / Advance Tax / Self Assessment Tax Challan copy
>> Computaion of Income
Yes as I agre with CA Manthan's veiw to applied for rectification u/s 154 with the above mentioned proof and copy to TRO with the same proofs.
