Hey Sameer.....thanku.
As far as my experience is concerned i gave interviews in both EnY and PwC.
About PwC : 1st n 2nd round was a HR interview n it was very usual....like tell me about urself ur family....to get thru this round 2 things shud be rite....1st Ur RESUME and 2nd Ur COMMUNICATION.....
3rd Round was Technical....the way PwC did it was really appreciable n practical....i was being interviewed for TAX and the Panel had kept the Income Tax Act in front of me....n they were askin Questions n if u have doubt refer the Act.....n it went awesome.....n 1 more thing mentionable is that the panel was really good as they did not make me nervous instead in the first few min. they helped me to calm down.....to crack This round......1st Technical Knowledge about the subject....n communication and Confidence......
About EnY.......after taking two rounds i was shortlisted for the technical round which they never took.....they made me along with 5 others to wait for 4-5 hrs n then they selected 1 candidate n said we are thru for the day...no more interview.....as in without even interviewing they rejected so many candidates who were waiting for so many hrs.......coz they had only 1 opening in tax n wich they had failed to disclose.....was very disappointed but nevertheless it taught me sumthing......n after this i went for the technical round for stat audit for wich i had no exp. n no idea........so it was not so gud but not so bad also.....my advice plz know ur subject well n then only go for the interview.....it helps you to be confident.....
I guess hav written it alll......Best of Luck to everyone who are goin for the interviews....

Now thats wat i call a good summary :-)
I opted for chennai placements. Placed at Indian Oil Corp, registered office - Mumbai. Direct taxation Department!
All the best to all :-)
I d say these are very important:
1) Dress appropriate
2) Never offer your resume or certificates unless asked for
3) Smile
4)Start the first sentence very well because the interview panel always takes something from a statement you make and turns it against you so be calm and never lose the smile and u ll breeze through the interview :-)
Usually it is a 3 member panel. Was 4 members in my case. All the best again:)

Every company has a pre decied criteria based on which the recruitment is done. For example BPCL had a criteria of first attempt with 55% or more marks. Similar case for Indian Oil Corp. Again these are not fixed rules and may change in the days to come. So it depends on the organisation. As the vacancies are limited they fix criteria to reduce the number of shortlistings to drill down the list. But audit firms generally do not look at attempts. Marks definitely play a role
