yes dear Neha... it includes printer as well as scanner because they cant be used without a Computer. Hence they cant be grouped under any other block da.

actually to the best of ma knowledge it depends........it can be said that they cant use without comp so they includes in computer bt if we go thru language then computer and computer software wud nt included printers and scanners they can be considered as plant and machinery.......

Dear Nidhi
We cant go for dictionary meaning for each and every asset. It will be absurd if we do so. Plant and machinery is one which has a distinct identity and help in generating revenue. Without Computers printers and scanners are of no use. They are pheripherals of Computers which in turn has to be Classified only Under COMPUTERS rather than grouping it under PLANT AND MACHINERY...

actually as i know we have 3 kind of blocks of tangible assets mainly i.e. buildings(all buildings) , furniture and fixture (all f& f) and plant and m/c (other than building and f & f)...if a particular item is not covered in building and f&f that will be covered in plant & m/c....so we can add printers and scanner in plant and m/c subject to an explaintory notes...nd this answer is also to the best of ma knowledge

Hey Neha.. as far as my kowledge goes Computer, Printer & Scanner doesn't come under the same rate of depreciation. So the rate of Depreciation would be 60% for computer while it would be 15% for both Printer & Scanner

Dear Neha....
printer & scanner are hardwares directly related with computer
so as per my knowledge they should be added in computer block & eligible for 60% depreciation.
