I am Salaried Person & refund of Rs 1L is pending for salary earned for 2015-2016
On 19.11.2016, recd a letter from IT dept stated as below:
Demand Raised (sec 1431a) Demand Amt Rs 43,920- outstanding pertains to AY 2014
Please advise what I should do?

CHECK YOUR 26AS AND FORM 16 WITH YOUR ITR

my empolyer had deducted for e.g Rs 75,000 whereas in ITR V return IT people considered lesser amt of Tax say for e,g Rs 50,000
I checked 26 AS thru IT site and found that Rs 75,000
So Shall I call IT toll free number or shall I send an email?

Hi Balaji,
You can rectify the demand for AY 2014 if you have filed the your tax return online, Please check the by whom demand has been raised in the pending actions of income tax website. If it is raised by CPC and rectification rights with CPC you can rectify the demand by requesting for online rectification. Once it is rectified you will be receiving your refund. if demand is raised by the assessing officer please contact your assessing officer with all supporting documents i order to rectify the demand. Once demand is recitifed your refund will be credited.
