my client recieves a demand notice under section 143(1) of rs 10000 relating to the assessement year 2005 on march 2013. and he is a salaried employed person.
so, kindly tell me the solution of the same.

First check acknowledgment copy of return filed, form 16 and check the same with itimation u/s. 143(1). you wil get the reasons why the demand is issued is raised. if any thing is wrong in the intimation then contact assesing officer and explain him. In case of no descripenices beter to pay tax.

but it is a invalid notice. because according to section 143(1) the time limit of intimation for demand is one year from end of the financial year in which the return is filed.
whether my client take action against such notice. if yes then, what....... if no, then its adjusted against refund in future.
