No he will not able to avail deduction under Section 80GG...as he himself owns a house property in d same city where he is carrying on business activity...

What about the house under construction Pranita, Isnt that covered in sec 23?
Any way he cant claim exemption US 80GG if i) he himself or his minor child or spouse or HUF in which he is a member owns a residential house in the place where he ordinarily resides or carries onbiz or prof ii) he owns a residential house in any other place being accommodation in the occupation of the assessee, the value of which is to be determined under sec 23(2) or 23(4)
