14 March 2017I am an individual. I have given donation to a cancer patient now my question is can I get the deduction benefit? If yes then how much amount I can take as deduction. Is there any rules to take the deduction benefit?

As per IT act, no deduction/exemption available for such good cause; but somewhere else, definately..........

Ok that means you want to say that if I will paid the donation to cancer patient then I can't get the duduction benefit.
Actually this cancer patient is the patient of Tata Memorial Hospital, can I get the deduction benefit if I will make the payment to Tata memorial Hospital directly instead of payment to cancer patient for treatement of this patient?

if that hospital has 12AA registration, and are giving you a 80G receipt then it would do good

How may I know that the hospital is registered under 12aa or not?

jus ask them if they ll give 80G receipt. That single question will do. If yes, you could proceed
