Deduction of home loan

Dear all,

I have taken home loan for new house property. I will get possession on Dec 18. can i get deduction of Home loan principle & Interest in the F Y 2018-19

Further, If I get possession in the F Y 2019-20 Can I get deduction for Home loan principle & Interest in the F Y 2018-19 

Please explain
