Death Compensation to legal heir
i want to know the tax liability on interest paid by insurance company on delayed payment of compensation on death of insured person to legal heir and also in which section and under which head.

Interest income is taxable under Income from other sources (under section 56)
But sir this interest is on compensation on death to legal heir so I think this is not taxable
