DATE OF ACQUISITION

If any employee has been given the right to acquire the esop shares  of a company and he exercises the acquisition and further after some time he sell the same then for the purpose of indexation which date should be considered as date of acquisition among  followings dates :-

A) GRANT DATE

B) VESTING DATE

C)  EXERCISE DATE

D) ALLOTMENT DATE

accd to me, it will be allotment date.

Friend ameet is rite allotment date will be taken as date of acquisition......

Explanation to Sec 2(42A)

in the case of a capital asset, being any specified security or sweat equity shares allotted or transferred, directly or indirectly, by the employer free of cost or at concessional rate to his employees (including former employee or employees), the period shall be reckoned from the date of allotment or transfer of such specified security or sweat equity shares;]
