I am appearing for 3rd group of CS Professional in Dec. 2016, I want to know whether scanners are useful in professional level or not.
If Not, which are the best and short books for the same.

Hello,
First of All, Best of luck for your exams.
See SCANNERS is must for each and evry level of professional courses. You can see the level of question is to be ask in the exam by referring scanners.
In 3rd group of CS Professional:-
There are 3 subjects:- DAP, ATLP And Elective.
for DAP- Refer module but for short and speedy revision you can refer CS ANOOP JAIN's Book.
for ATLP- Thoroughly study and command over the subject is to be require, however for the time being just for speedy revision you may refer BANGAR's book.
for ELECTIVE- There are no reliable sources availble except Institute's Module. You can read module along with shuchita scanner.
With best Wishes....

Scanner is a must and it will be in addition to study material. In every paper minimum 20 % questions will be repeated from past years. So you will be equipped to handle those questions if you go through the scanners. And scanners will have analysis on weightage of marks chapter wise, this can help you in studying accordingly. Also you can learn the way of writing answers to the point. I used to refere reliance scanner and also guideline answers published by ICSI. Wish you all the best. In case you have started studying just now for the exam , then it is prudent to start from scanner directly since there is less than a month for exam. You can study thoroughly from scanner and if time permits study important chapters from module. Wish u all the best.
