I am cs qualified and I cannot devote my time for any additional courses. IS CS alone sufficient to be successful in career? If no, why?

There are numerous options for company secretaries who want to find career options in employment. Some of the available opportunities are:
Companies Act, 1956, Section 383A states that it is mandatory for any company who has paid up share capital of 2 Crores or more to hire a full-time company secretary. The only educational qualification required to get a job in such companies is a membership of the Institute of Company Secretaries of India.
Companies who have their shares listed in the stock exchanges need to appoint a full-time company secretary. As several companies are being set up every year, the career prospects for company secretaries are abundant.
The Government of India has recognised this qualification for the appointment at higher level designations. For instance, it is one of the criteria to get employed in the Indian Company Law Service.
Company secretaries are required in the organisations that are run by councils, boards or other corporate organisations. The big Co-operative firms also hire company secretaries.
Students completing their education in this field can further go for making a career in research. They can also work as lecturers in Commerce Faculty.
Many banks, financial institutes, professional organisations recruit company secretaries for various senior positions.
However, with New Company Act,2013 there will be a wider scope for CS in near future...

Yes, you can go for Additional qualifications like MBA, MBL, LLB or other professional courses like CA, CWA...
If you think that only being a CS will not going to work for you, is totally your misconception,
Being only a Company Secretary can fetch you jobs,
Adding other qualification will surely add another star to it...

Bharat Thank you. Actually, I am solely dependent on CS, and I cant go for additional qualification. Just heard others telling, without additional qualification not much scope for CS.

Cs alone is sufficient ........
is it sufficient for our increasing aspirations - yes but with a caveat.
Many of cs are at cfo / cs positions in top companies.
For eg Jayesh merchant , cfo of asian paints is a c.s.
Just gave the above example because it shows how much we can achieve.
You can go for a LLB. why LLB ? because c.s is for corporate law and in this times where companies demand all in one profile llb will help you to add value to your c.v
For career in compliance and company law , cs was and is the best option and will suffice.
If you want to do additional course after llb then this should be your order of preference
AFTER CS - LLB = CA > ICWA > MBA
