inorder to pass CPT you have to have minimum 100 marks
99.5 and 99.75 is less than 100
if you get below 100 you fail

here rounding is done to next mark not to the nearest mark...

'The ICAI' Doesn't Give Any Extra Marks or Benefits which is Not As Per Their Rules:
I Have Heard that, A IPCC Student Gets 40+ Marks in Each Subject but in Aggregate, He Got 199 Marks, He Wrote A Letter to The ICAI to Give 'Pass' Result; As It Requires 200 Marks in Total.
The Reply From The ICAI is, "We Want Chartered Accountant & Not Beggers"..
This Reply May Show that Even 99.75 Marks is Less Than 100.
Hence, It May be Fail...
But I Wish that No Student has to Face This Situation.....
All CPT Students will Clea with Flying Colours....
Now Enjoy the Vacation & All The Best for Entire CA Studies.....

Requirement for Passing the Common Proficiency Test |
|
A candidate shall ordinarily be declared to have passed the Common Proficiency Test if he/she obtains at one sitting a minimum of 50 percent marks in the aggregate of all the sections comprised in CPT (Examination), subject to the principle of negative marking. It is clarified that there is no requirement of securing minimum passing marks in a subject/section of CPT examination. |

There will be negative marking for each wrong answer. ¼ (One Fourth) mark will be deducted for each wrong answer. Please note that multiple darkened circles for a question will also be treated as wrong answer |

Any fraction of mark in aggregate will be rounded off to the next full mark. |
