Cpe hours query

Hey can anyone help me with understanding the CPE hours requirements as per ICAI ??

I am a newly qualified CA in August 2014 and I do not hold COP.

All the members (aged less than 60 years) who are not holding Certificate of Practice and all
the members who are residing abroad (whether holding Certificate of Practice or not) are
required to:
(a) Complete at least 45 CPE credit hours either structured or unstructured
learning (as per Member’s choice) in rolling period of three-years
b) Complete minimum 10 CPE credit hours of either structured or unstructured
learning (as per member’s choice) in each calendar year.

For members not holding COP , they are required to complete 10 CPE hrs in a calender year.and 45 hours for a block of 3 calender yr...For new members first calender yr. CPE requirement is exempt.

So , if you enrolled in say Sept,2014 then CPE exemption for 2014 ...and CPE hours 10 to be completed for 2015 and the 45 for block(2015-17).

Ma'am..m aware of this..this requirement is for block of 3 yrs 01/01/2014 to 31/12/2016

As I qualified in 2014..the 1st year is exempt..1st calender year

Now I have to fulfill propotionate requirement in next 2yrs..and thats where doubt emerges..

Plz help

No, block of 3 yrs will start from 2015(2015-17) and not from 2014 bcoz 2015 is anyway exempt.

So my block will be 01/01/2015 to 31/12/2017 rite ??

Other requirement nd all remain same..correct ?

exactly.. first year exempt.. .. but your block wil b expiring on 01.01.2015 to 31.12.2016

because block for all CA's are same dear... there are no block for individuals..

so for these two years u had to complete 30 hrs ( Structured or non Structured)

you cant forward these hours for 2017... because m quite sure ur block wil ends on 31.12.2016

you need nt to do full cpe hours i.e. for 45 hours .. because thats for 3 yrs ...

now if u r having only two years of that block ur requirement will b only 30 hrs

As i had completed my CA in 2012 , so 2012 was exempted and for 2013 i had done fifteen hours cpe...(As confirmed from ICAI officials and done by me on this basis)
