Yes. Attaining cpe credit is essential to members not holding COP.

hi,
I became ca in may 2012 exam. so whether cpe hrs compulsory for 2012 & 2013. whether in first yr it is exempt. from where this information I can get? cpe hrs can be carried forward & cpe hrs considered calender yr wise or financial yr wise.

Clearing CA final is not the criteria for CPE. CPE hours are mandatory only after attaining membership from ICAI.
Once you get membership number,ICAI will intimate the CPE hours applicable to you from time to time.
CPE hours are considered for calender year.

Hello,
After going through the link given by S. Sowjanya, I understood that Since I got membership no in Oct 2012 , I need to complete 10 CPE hours by Dec 2013. and that too without any exemption.
Am I Correct ?
plz reply.
