Dear team, my bro is working in Indian army. He is getting counter insurgency allowance of ₹10500 per month in my salary . kindly guide under which section and up to what limit it is exempted from tax.

It is exempt u/s 10(14) upto Rs. 3900/- p. m. Also note that if this exemption is taken, employee cannot claim any exemption in respect of border area allowance (Subject to certain conditions and locations).

THNX ALOT SIR,,, sir first do i need to deduct the allowance amount from the salary by myself and den update it on exempt income for reporting purpose.
