Correction of tds return after order u/s 234e

One of my clients has received demand order for short deduction and late filing of TDS return.

My query is that can a correction statement be filed before payment of such demand so that the demand order is reduced to the extent of short deduction and only late filing fees is payable.

Dear Tribhuvan,

Yes, you will have to give a reply to department and prove that short deduction has done by mistake and data will be rectified with revised return, then your notice for short deduction would be settled.
